Dry Needling at Summit Physical Therapy & Performance
Targeted relief. Faster recovery. More time doing what you love.
Dry needling is an evidence-based technique that targets trigger points - tight, overactive muscle fibers - using a thin sterile needle
(no medication needed). The needle causes the muscle to release, blood flow to increase, and the nervous system to reset.
Less pain, better mobility, faster return to the trail, mountain, or gym.
WHO IS DRY NEEDLING FOR?
If you're an outdoor athlete, weekend warrior, or active person dealing with persistent pain or tightness that just won't resolve, dry needling may be part of your solution. We commonly treat:
Neck pain and tension headaches
Upper and lower back pain
Hip tightness and hip flexor pain
IT band syndrome and knee pain
Hamstring, quad, and calf strains
Shoulder pain and rotator cuff tightness
Achilles and plantar heel pain
Post-surgical recovery and scar tissue
Overuse injuries from skiing, climbing, running, cycling, and more
HOW WE USE DRY NEEDLING AT SUMMIT
Dry needling is one tool in a comprehensive treatment toolbox, not a standalone fix. Every session is 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who will assess your movement, identify the root cause of your pain, and incorporate dry needling where clinically appropriate alongside manual therapy and a personalized exercise program.
Not sure if it's right for you? Your PT will work with you to evaluate whether dry needling is a good fit and build it into your plan of care if it makes sense for your goals and injury.
The goal is never just to feel better today. The goal is to move better for the long haul.
